Jenny Stirling, mayoral candidate for Community Voices said today "Townsville City Council's backflip over the canal estate, as reported in today's Bulletin, is a victory for the common sense that the Townsville Greens and other people in the community have advocated".
Ms Stirling said: "There were always going to be concerns about the cost to ratepayers, the impact on marine life and the realities of our changing weather pattern - Community Voices is totally against the canal estate."
